Summer is Almost Over (Part 2)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Santorini. What a beautiful and romantic island. Nick and I spent most of our days relaxing and drinking. I came back with an amazing tan and Nick… well let’s just say Nick came back with some severely burned ankles! And I have to say for the men who read our blog… every guy should own a pair of Reef flip flops, which have a beer bottle opener on the bottom of each shoe! I know I laughed at first too, until we were at the beach with our Mythos beer, and discovered we had no bottle opener. Then Nick “always thinking” Carrillo, took off his shoe and saved the day!

Can you believe it?! Michael Jackson turns 50 today. This is ... simply unbelievable! When I was smaller , Ulla and me, we were just Jackson-freaks. He ruled our world. We loved him beyond words! Well I actually still love his music- it's timeless, universal and every single song is a masterpiece of its own - totally unique. Anyways- all the best from Ulla and me!


I am back packing, tomorrow I am off to Germany!

Watching Ana Ivanovic struggling a bit against Coin. By the way -If I was a guy, I'd be crazy in love with Ana. She is pure beauty, she has talent, she is incredible. But I am a girl, so I am more into male tennis anyways- as mentioned before both Safin and Novak are through- and these are the line-ups for the second round of the US Open :

By the way my hunk (<3) dared to call me in the early morning today- at 6 am (give yourselves that!), and wants to do it again! He's really stopped enjoying life, eh?
Had a more or less beauty-day and feel gorgeous (even though people are mistaking me for an Italian or ROMANIAN chic...)- spent some more money (no more... no more) on a AC Milan retro-jersey, on a Tommy H. polo-shirt and on a track suit... well and on some beauty-stuff any girl needs. Had to say good-bye to my Dad , Aunt and Uncle- since I am leaving on Saturday and now I am at my Mommy's again. I can't deny it wasn't easy. Whatever happened, my heart's too great anyways and I carry much too much sympathy around with me! Plus : could be, that my Mommy's gonna adopt a dog very soon......

David Duchovny

Following my picture of Gillian Anderson I thought it only right to do David Duchovny, in my opinion, the more attractive of the 2. He was the main reason I used to watch "The X files", lost interest when he left. It is an A3 picture which had to be scanned hence the line across the middle. My son's comment was, "Hey Mum, I like the picture but you've done the wrong one!" He was referring to "Evolution" of course, although that was not my thought when I did it. I started off thinking of him in a bubble, then that developed to a space suit. I liked the idea of alien insects being able to treat glass as a liquid bubble, and then it evolved further. I wanted him to float, following the space idea and the spiders web got worked in as a result. I tend to plan these things on the page although I usually have an idea of what I plan to do.

No picture for yesterday, I did a pencil sketch of Amy Winehouse but it just hasn't worked how I want it. I'll have another go and post it when I'm happy.

Sheva (Andriy Shevchenko) is back! He is gonna play for us again. Finally!
Little background: Sheva made a name once he started playing for AC Milan. While playing for us he became one of the very best footballers of the globe, claiming many important awards, winning the most important club titles and being the best goalgetter all across the old continent. Than something really sad happened- he went to Chelsea (two yrs ago). But that dark chapter in his Curriculum Vitae is passe and forgotten- he is back a Milanello!

Marat- the great guy from Russia- Safin is through right into the second round! He needed five sets to claim victory (versus Spadea) however! Anyways, he is through- and believe me- this is all that matters (Robredo's waiting there by the way...).

Jamie Foxx

Another pencil portrait. After my low yesterday I thought I'd go back to basics and concentrate on more detailed work. I've also been experimenting with reflections in oils, but they're too wet to scan yet.

It's time for the US Open again!

The US Open are one of my personal highlights of the year. I love tennis. I simply love it. The US Open are so much different than the other Grand Slam Tournaments. It's faster, more complex, powerful and more explosive. It is the last GS of the year- before the Masters' Series.
Anyways these are the schedules- plus here are the most important draws of the first round :

Today I was shopping some furniture and stuff in Ikea...
My purse ( = my Mommy's mostly) is so much lighter now! What a relief!
Now I am damn effing tired, drinking coffee (indeed- me and coffee!) and enjoying the afternoon sun.
I am also waiting for a phone call from Ulla....

Just a sketch tonight. Decided to try Dannii to improve my sketching skills,not happy with the mouth. Started an oil painting which isn't finished yet.

I'm feeling rather negative about my artistic skills today. Spent some time surfing the web and seen some really cool stuff, must practice, so much to learn.

Gillian Anderson

Following the release of the X files movie, she seems to be in the news recently. I'm not 100% happy with the likeness, there's something that's bugging me about it. Not sure what. I expect I'll spot it tomorrow or when I've posted it. It's always the way.

Just six more days to go....

..and I am back in Germany! Til than I am enjoying some well-earned comforts---> I am being hoeplessly spoiled by my family (especially by Mom) plus I am meeting up friends, drinking too much and of course spending money!!!

Summer is Almost Over

Where did the summer go? It’s hard to believe summer is almost over and I hardly have tan lines! Before you start feeling sorry for me, I though I would rewind the clock and think back to the beginning of summer when Nick and I embarked on an amazing adventure: London & Santorini. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from London.

Money is like silk in my hands....

...it slips through my fingers- especially when I enter stores like CK, Benetton, Marks and Spencer and Lacoste..not to mention Hennes...(all proven today once again........) I spent so much money today. Once my Mom sees my bills, she is gonna behead me (will make no biger difference- I act headlessly anyways!).
I just do not seem to find a way..to stop it :)

I am toally in love with two pullovers I bought myself and a shirt from CK <3. I can't stop looking at it!

The day was so promptly over- visited my Bro, my Grandfather, met Mena, went shopping and went for a fancy dinner to my Aunt's and Uncle's!
I am so tired- just finished talking to my Love (almost two hours ...). I miss him such a great deal!

Tomorrow I am off to Ikea, than to my other Grandfather and in the eve to Wera!!!!

Ever since reading "The Queen and I" by Sue Townsend I've been attracted to the idea of the Queen doing everyday jobs. You can't get more mundane than washing up, and, as she always wears gloves, why not a pair of "marigolds"?

Insomnia Part XYZ (...)

I can't fall asleep. My aunt's snoring , my Mom and her hunk are asleep- et moi?! No chance! I am close to a more or less bigger tantrum! I cannot watch TV, since my aunt sleeps in the living-room.. I cannot even switch on the light here- they'd kill me!
I am sitting in the kitchen right now, trying to behave as quiet as a mouse- since I must not wake up anyone....
Gonna go and meet my brother tomorrow and my Grandfather and than also Ulla's (= my best friend) Mommy, who is also accidentally here in Poland at the same time as I am. Brilliant, if you ask me! Than I am going to my Dad's place for a few days. We'll do some shopping (if I got his encoded message right) and stuff like that. As long as we do not start arguing, the day will be a success. I also plan to visit my Uncle and Aunt- who live in the neighbourhood ( of my Dad's house). This are all plans- as for now- for tomorrow.

In my opinion, time passes by quite quickly here- as it always did. I guess after all a two-week-stint doesn't do my family any justice - which means that I gotta come back in Octobre! Or soonish at least!

My Mommy forgot to order these sneakers of mine (okay almost mine)- so I had to do it one more time. They will be here in two days <3.

I will continue most likely laters. Now it is time for a second attempt to finally fall asleep...

Me and the Olympic Games

It is so damn hot outdoors, that I am forced to stay indoors. This sucks. I wanna go out! Well anyways- the good side of this big mess is definately the fact, that I can watch finally Olympics non-stop. Now it's heavyweight lifting ( rooting for the Ukrainians), than Athletics and last but not least- Gymnastics <3 (with Tomita! !!!!!! ).

My brother is coming over laters, and I have to make a shopping list. Time is money... or no: I need as much time to spend as much money as possible.

In Poland

It has been a longer time, indeed. Just arrived for a couple of (hopefully) relaxing days in Poland. I am so tired, you cannot even imagine! As if a tank has rolled over me at least twice!
Gonna do some more stuff, take a shower and go to the city. Time is money my loves!

Madonna!

I couldn't resist the idea of Madonna as a "Northern Housewife" She seems to have adopted the UK as her home so the rest flowed naturally. I did think about calling it "Waiting for Guy" but I think that could be misconstrued, although it fits with the overall northern domineering housewife stereotype image seen in the media.

Well, I'm back at home so... here are the pictures, finally. I'm still not sure about the Heath Ledger picture, too dark and it resembles Alan Davis too much.

I'm working with an incredibly slow internet connections so I still can't upload any pictures yet. Lots of rains and locks on the canal today. Frustration is mounting and I've not spent any time drawing so I'm off to do some now. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get a 3G connection.

Heath Ledger

I'm struggling with internet connections today had image in wrong orientation and poor quality but it is taking an age to upload it. Canal's are unreliable for communication technology. I will try upload the right image tonight or rectify situation tomorrow. Spent the day between Drayton Manor Park and the Vet's. The dog has something in his paw, not sure what but have to bathe it and administer Antibiotics; it was that or remain another night in the location while the vets performed a minor op. Finished the picture of Heath Ledger, such a waste for him to go like that and so young! I like the heavy shadow of the picture but not sure it's well suited to caricature. I'm not sure it's a good likeness, there is more than a hint of Alan Davis about this one. Have had some ideas for some oil paintings, not all portraits but I feel the urge to return to oils. I've been attracted to some landscape images recently, just finished a water colour on the canal and partway through a sunflower picture, I'd better finish that one soon as they're dying.
The Wretched image has not uploaded yet so I'll try again in the morning.

Meryl Streep

I've been on a canal boat since Saturday so haven't had too much time to draw and had trouble accessing the internet. This is one picture I've finished. Sorry for poor quality but I've had to photograph it, I'll scan it in properly once I get home, but for now this will have to do. I was hoping that being on the boat would give me more time to draw but between watching the children and manning the boat and locks the reverse has been true.

Worst day of my life... I miss you my precious

On Friday I learned that Snoopy , my dog died. Words cannot express what a loss this is, and how I feel. It's the worst days in my life. I miss him so immensly and feel as though life treated me unfair. Even now, when I am writing these lines there are tears running uncontrolably down my cheeks. I wish this was a bad dream and I could wake up soon.
But this isn't!
