25.01.09 , Sunday .
It's Chinese New Year's Eve everyone !
And I'm pretty sure that everyone is eager to reunite with families and relatives , and to receive 'red gold' .
Haha , I'm talking about angpao !
Yes , every year we Chinese await for this moment to receive and collect as many red packets as possible to obtain the money in it !
It is angpaos , that make us rich , It is angpaos that brings us all more closer together , It is angpaos that makes us curse our aunties and uncles for giving too LITTLE money ~ LOL
And thus , its CNY Eve , and tonight I am to attend a family reunion dinner at Ace & Spades . ( restaurant )
It was raining , but not even the damp weather could destroy the mood to party !
I was all dressed up , and was ready to eat !
CNY DINNER ..
Ah , the typical sparkling red wine .
As the adults pop open their Chivas Regals and Cognacs , we the lower class pop open ours !
The first dish of the night was definately the 'yee sang' .
Yes , this dish is famous during the CNY season .
It's a mixture of various ingredients such as salmon slices , ginger , crunchy stuffs and a whole lot more !
We toss these ingredients to mix them together , and we say good wishes to either ourselves or to the people we share a table with , good luck or health throughout the year .
The aftermath of the tossing . =P
' Tin Kai ' soup .
Its a herbal soup cooked with ginseng and chicken !
Next , we have a dish called ,
The Four Seasons .
Why Four ?
Because there are four types of scrumptious morsels arranged beautifully in a large plate .
The brown ones are nice !
One of the most common foods served are fried rice .
And one of the most expensive , yet delicious food that kept me anticipated the whole night was in fact ..
Roasted Pork !
This delicacy is much awaited for , and is well worth the wait !
Served with 'mantao' and fried fishcakes .
Next , we have ..
Next we have the dessert !
Peach !
A very sweet and cooling dish that just hits the spot !
PICTURES ~
After the dinner , I went straight home .
And gambled with my family .
We weren't playing high rollers but , it was costly !
We shared some stories , some laughs ..
It was indeed a CNY eve to remember !
But there was this special person I really wanted to share this dinner with ..
HER ~
Happy Chinese New Year To All !
And to All A Good Night !
