But wait , there's more ! Besides Gaga herself , there is yet another all-inspiring woman that has the guts , power and style to match her daily troubles .



She's in fact one of Thailand's most respectable forensic patholgist , a well-recognized household name and an idol to most Thai and Asian people . She is none other than the eccentric ,

Pornthip Rojanasunand

I don't know but I think there's something about women and funky hairstyles that really ticks me on . Not sexually though .

Dr Pornthip here has done some outstanding work through the past years of her life . She's helped the dead speak out the truth and she fears no death as she believes that the dead protects her in life and work .

Back in the day during the Thaksin Shinawatra's goverment , she repeatedly publicly accused the police of abuses . During Thaksin's anti-drug campaign in early 2003 , during which more than 1,000 people were killed , Pornthip claimed that some of these deaths were caused by police .

2008 clashes between police and the Peoples Alliance for Democracy resulted in several serious injuries , but much confusion as to whether the injuries were caused by police tear gas grenades or improvised explosives devices carried by the protesters . Pornthip used a GT200 device to conclude that the protester injuries were not caused by IEDs and concluded that faulty tear gas grenades caused the injuries , leading to the removal from office of the national police chief .

When news of the fraudulent nature of the GT200 devices became public in 2010 , Pornthip defended the use of the devices , even if they were proven ineffective . She noted ,

“ I do not feel embarrassed if the bomb detector is proven ineffective . Personally , I have never handled the device myself . But my people have used it and it is accurate every time .
Long long time ago , people believed that the Earth is flat and anyone who said otherwise faced execution .
Things which are not visible does not necessarily mean they do not exist . "

She bravely investigated many cases regarding corrupted officials and murders in her country which made her receive numerous death threats from unknown and evil people , telling her to stop the investigation . But she shun them all off and continued to bring justice to all , including the dead .

In June 2009 , she was one of the pathologists investigating the death of actor David Carradine .

In October 2009 , she was called in by Malaysian political party to investigate the mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock . She concluded that Malaysian Democratic Action Party employee Teoh Beng Hock , who had been detained by the Malaysian federal Government's Malaysia's Anti-Corruption Commision had an 80% probability of being murdered .

It was true that she received death threats from parties that do not want her to continue with this case , but after being assured full around the clock security by the Ministry of Home Affairs she continued with the case fearing nothing .


A media personality and the most famous pathologist in Thailand , Pornthip often appears on television sporting her unorthodox style : punk-rock hair dyed purplish red , eccentric clothing , and glittery eye makeup , and platform shoes .

I guess that being one of the most influencial people of all time , you'd gotta have a look that no one can forget .

In other words , she's got style . A woman worth admiring over .

This coming Monday ( 30th August 2010 ) , Flushing Meadows will see it's annual grand slam tennis as top players compete to trump one another in old school styled tennis .

We'll see the ever-fit Rafael Nadal do his best as he tries to complete a career GrandSlam ( as this is the only GrandSlam he has not won ) . After the all-inspiring victory over Mardy Fish , a highly-motivated , pumped up and graceful Roger Federer will spring back into action ( hopefully ) to regain his crown here at Flushing Meadows .

Britain's only hope , Andy Murray will turn out to be a serious contender after executing the annihilation of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the Toronto Masters . But reigning champion , Juan Martin del Potro will not be able to defend his crown here at the US Open as he is recovering from injuries that put him off all year . And so will Serena Williams , as she cut her foot at a restaurant and is now going through a speedy ( not speedy enough ) recovery .

But what intrigues me the most this time is the fact that the two Aussie stars , Lleyton Hewitt and Samantha Stosur will have a near mission impossible feat as they were given difficult draws . But let's forget about Hewitt awhile and focus on Samantha here .

It was said that she first has to face Elena Vesnina , one of the highest-ranked players not seeded at Flushing Meadows , and could run into fellow Australian Anastasia Rodionova in round two .

And if those two weren't enough , the worst is still to come . Russian 28th seed Alisa Kleybanova awaits in the third round and , should Stosur survive the first week , the world No.6 would likely need to score four successive victories over former Open champions or finalists to lift the trophy .

As mentioned above , Stosur is projected to meet two-time runner-up , Elena Dementieva in the fourth round .

And if that wasn't enough , adding insult to injury , defending champion and second seed , Kim Clijsters awaits Stosur in quarter-finals should she reach there . And we all know the damage this Belgium has caused to Serena Williams in the finals here , last year .

And even , if Stosur emerged victorious against Kim Clijsters , she will have a heck of a run as she will clash against two-time winner of the US Open and third seed , Venus Williams in the semi-finals .

With 3 Olympic Gold medals , two time winner here at the US ,
five-time winner at the prestigious Wimbledon , a French Open title , and an
Australian Open title all under one belt , she is in fact not a force to be triffled with .

And she will meet llast but not least , Danish top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the finals . Although Caroline Wozniacki has not won a GrandSlam title yet , she proves to be quite a player and this was proven as she was the runner-up of the 2009 US Open .

So it seems that every time Samantha Stosur of Australia advances through a stage , a more fearsome threat apparently appears before her . But the question is , will she press on with the Aussie spirit in her or will she throw in her racket and give up ?

Meanwhile , Russian heartthrob Maria Sharapova who has not been at her best shape for years due to her shoulder injury , is deemed fit and is ready to take top players and win a GrandSlam .






Russian tennis princess , Maria Sharapova , who has shot back up the rankings after a shoulder injury that almost ended her career , feels she is hitting her stride and has a chance to capture her second US Open title in four years .

After suffering from a shoulder injury , she dropped in rank as far as 126th in the world . But Sharapova is now 16th in the world heading into the tournament and said reaching two finals in recent weeks has convinced her she can snap a GrandSlam drought nearing three years .
