Fox and Dreamworks TV Order LOCK & KEY Television Pilot

Fox and Dreamworks TV have given a pilot order to Locke & Key, the mystery thriller based on a comic book by Joe Hill.If this sounds familiar, that's because the network already made a series committment on paper to the show last month, but the pilot order is the first offiical production step.Executive producers: Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Josh Friedman, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Ted Adam.

Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them…. and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all…! Acclaimed suspense novelist and New York Times best-selling author Joe Hill (Heart-Shaped Box) creates an all-new story of dark fantasy and wonder, with astounding artwork from Gabriel Rodriguez. Despite the fact, I know the story and have read every single issue of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, I still cannot wait for October 31st, Halloween night. It's going to be epic.  Enjoy the poster of Rick Grimes riding on horseback toward a zombie infested city of ruins.

AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD Picks Up a Second Season; Executive Producer Frank Darabont Talks Season Two

It was a damn good trailer. So damn good that it got the show a second season.  In spite of the fact that its pilot episode will not air until Halloween night, AMC’s zombie adaptation The Walking Dead (based on Robert Kirkman’s ongoing comic series) has already been picked up for a second season. From Empire [via Fangoria], the follow-up to the show’s six-episode first season will begin filming in February 2011 and will consist of thirteen episodes.

From Comic Book Movie, The Walking Dead Executive Producer Frank Darabont claims that he would love to capture on film “some of the environmental elements from volume 2 of Kirkman’s epic comic,” saying:

“It would be great not just to get out of the heat (season one was shot in Atlanta), but to present a different idea to the audience visually and tonally by having it be winter. There’s some really cool stuff that Kirkman did, where they find the one zombie that’s frozen to the ground. I’d never seen that before and that’s really cool.”

Darabont also discussed his excitement for potentially introducing one of his favorite characters from the comic in season two:

“…Or when Michonne shows up – and boy, is she a character I can’t wait to get to – when she comes striding out of the wasteland like a Clint Eastwood f***ing spaghetti western character cross-melded with some samurai movie, like the Baby Cart character with the f***ing sword, and there’s just a little drift of snow in the air. I would love to put that on film.” said Darabont.

I cannot wait until Halloween night to watch the television adaption of one my favorite books. The trailer, production pictures have all looked wonderful and really capture the spirit of the books.  Now, if we could just Y THE LAST MAN INVINCIBLE, EX MA CHINA and/or FABLES green-lit, television might be worth watching again.

FIRST Trailer for AMC's THE WALKING DEAD

AMC has revealed the trailer for its new series, "The Walking Dead," which premieres with a 90-minute episode on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31, at 10/9c. "The Walking Dead is a six-episode series based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics.

"The Walking Dead" tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Jon Bernthal plays Shane, who worked with Rick in the police department before the zombie disaster. Other cast includes Laurie Holden, who plays Andrea, one of two sisters who join the survivors of the zombie plague, Steven Yeun as Glenn, an expert scavenger and Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Rick's wife Lori.

FIRST LOOK: Smallville Season 10 Trailer

The CW released a trailer for the 10th and final season of Smallville.   Unless I missed her there is NO Chloe Sullivan in the promo.  That makes a good trailer.  Hooray!

Here is the first full cast pic from the upcoming AMC series The Walking Dead, adapted from a comic-book series of the same name.

If you'll be traveling to San Diego this weekend there will be a panel at Comic-Con and it will feature series stars Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), Jon Bernthal (The Pacific), Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), Laurie Holden (The Mist), and Emma Bell (Law & Order). The Panel is Friday July 23 at 11:30AM in room 6BCF.
