One Chance

I was at The Curve the other day. I was doing my normal walks at the Bazaar, and I went straight to Starbucks to have a nice cup of coffee.
It was a hot day, ya' know?
Anyways, my legs and arms were killing me as something caught my attention.
Two teenage boys approached me and asked if I were 'Jaden'.
At first, I denied my identity.
But they insisted that I was in fact, 'Jaden'.
And so, they told me they were friends of Joshua (my old classmate).
And they told me they were doing this article featuring inspiring people.
I told them straight forward, "I am nothing inspiring."
But they told me about the story of my life ,I told Joshua recently .
So, they sat down and opened their fancy looking notebooks and pens.
I really wasn't expecting to be interviewed NOW.
But, what the heck? It's fun.
And so, I agreed.

After the little talk, they sent me a copy of the 'interview' to me through email.
This was what turned out..

N.K = Nick & Ken
J = Jaden

N.K : Hello Jaden.
J : Hey.
N.K : Lets get going, shall we?
J : Shoot.
N.K : So, summary of your life.
J : Well, I am a regular guy. I love good jokes, and I enjoy most of my time
making my friends laugh. Seeing them laugh makes the 'season' feel better.
I have a crazy passion for chocolate. I do not describe myself as handsome,
cute, charming, etc. Neither am I THAT smart or athletic.
I have a wonderful life so far, surprises are always a handful.
I love tennis, and I'm currently going through tennis lessons. My idols are
Roger Federer, Andrea Bocelli and Lee Kuan Yew( Ex-Prime Minister of Singapore).

N.K : Lets start off with when you were standard six. Joshua told us that's when
you awakened from your life, and started seeing things differently?
J : I wouldn't say 'awakened'. But, during that time of period I certainly
did see life in a very different view. My opinion on life is that it is God's
way of giving challenges in life. Without them, we will die.
N.K : Can you defy 'die'?
J : Life, will knock everyone down almost all the time. You might loose your
wallet, or you might lose a special someone. Its time like these where you
have to wake up, and see that life isn't all happy-go-lucky, but it is
as difficult as operating a jet plane on your first day.
N.K : How did you learn to live and learn life as you've said?
J : It's kinda embarassing... But if you must know, I learn that life is
difficult through girls.
I have been through a very eye-opening relationship. Its here for one minute,
and then its gone. Not only that, most of my friends are gone as well.
This is because I've taken my friends for granted, and thought that I will
never be in this kind of situation.
N.K : What situation?
J : Imagine yourself, not good looking, not smart, and not athletic. Stuck in a
school where your presence is ignored, and your influence is weak.
You have nothing left, and you have no where to run.
N.K : You made it sound as if it is not your fault?
J : Somehow, I should get the fair share of blame as much as the girl should get.
But this should not keep us down of what's good in life. But, this should
teach us about the daily situations in life. This kinda thing is never going
to end, but we must overcome and learn about it, and move on.
But till this day, she is stubbornly refusing to forget the past.
And treat it as if it was all my fault.
N.K : Will you ever find it in your heart to forgive her?
J : Will you? If someone has dealt this much damage to you, will you?
N.K : Okay, so what's the happiest moment in your life?
J : I have many. For example, my first love. Although it ended quite badly,
me and her took our time to rejuvenate, and let go about the past.
We're good friends now. Another, is my first kiss.
N.K : Care to talk about your first kiss?
J : I rather not.
N.K : So, do you have a quote/phrase, or a life-moto you would like to share with
the readers?
J : Well, I've learn that life is constantly pulling us down. But what that
doesn't kill you, just makes you stronger.
N.K : Well said. So how are you planning to 'clean' the messes in your life?
J : To tell the truth, I don't know. For many, they choose to let time
do its part. But when the time comes, I will talk to her and hopefully clear
everything.
N.K : Okay ! Now, in this part of the interview, we want you to tell a few words
about the names we are about to tell you.
J : Oh god.. ( O.O )
N.K : Barrack Obama.
J : The recently appointed President-elect of United States, Barrack Obama has
proven to the world that religion, race , color or language has nothing to
do with leadership. It means, anyone can achieve their lifelong dreams
if you really put your heart into it. As the campaign he( Barrack Obama )
is running, is not only about him. It is about what they can achieve together
as a team.
N.K : Datuk Seri Shahrizat Aziz.
J : Oh dear. Well, she states in an interview that she was intimidated by
her boss, Rafidah. But how is she going to become Wanita Umnno Chief if she
is to be intimidated by her( Rafidah )?
How is she going to face not only Barisan Nasional, but the world?
N.K : Err.. Lee Kuan Yew.
J : If you ask my opinion, I think that the separation of Singapore from
Malaysia has indeed turned out great for Lee Kuan Yew. He has lead once a
small, defenseless, and troubled country to what it is today ; Modern,
advanced, and well known for its high level in education. It is no wonder
he is one of the most influential political figures in the South-East Asian
region.
As he once said, "To retire , means death."
N.K : Celine Dion.
J : Oh! I love her songs. Haha.
Well, based on her success so far, it's the moment she thinks she can't,
is that then she realizes she can.
N.K : Roger Federer?
J : Haha, well. His legacy and achievement as King of Tennis is by this quote.
He likes to play with people who have beaten him, especially early in his
career, so that later, he tries to get them back. And when he does. he has
outdone himself. Whoever, is a tough opponent for him and will remain that
way for a long, long time.
N.K : I'm running out of people to question you.
J : Then don't ask ! Haha!
N.K : Andrea Bocelli?
J : What he craves the most, is what he hopes to achieve. He says, " Is to
communicate with the listeners, to touch them the same way he was touched
as a child by his favorite singers, who made him cry and made him dream.
N.K : 'Britain's Got Talent' winner, Paul Potts.
J : Well, our various failures and the courage to stand up against the challenges
we face in our daily lives.
Can we believe that we truly are just as important and capable as Paul Potts,
that our future, too, is aimed towards success?
Can we sing "Vincero" ("I shall conquer") in the midst of our previous
failure, in a cheap suit, with a broken tooth?
Remember: Who we are today is a product of what we have done in our past.
And who we will be tomorrow is a function of what we will do from this point
forward.
Let's commit to the path less trodden, and carry on with this incredible
journey. I'll see you on that trail !
N.K : Well said.
What Joshua told us about you, is all true. That you are an inspired, and
intelligent person who seeks everything that is good in life.
J : I have to disagree about the intelligent part, but the rest.. is me.
N.K : Thank you for time, Jaden. All the best, and see you next time.
J : You too, man. Thanks!

- End. -

After the tremendously long talk, I finished up my coffee and walks back to where my family was.
They wouldn't believe what just happened to me..
