Sander Hicks: "National Geographic Pseudo-Science?"

Tonight, Monday August 31st, the National Geographic Channel is set to debut a new anti-conspiracy hit piece entitled, “9/11: Science and Conspiracy”. And while the unwitting supporters of the "official version of 9/11" will surely applaud and reference it as more proof of the 9/11 Truth Movements folly, what they present is far from scientific proof.

Amazingly enough, the New York Post went to Sander Hicks as a leading source for their review of the program. As a well known 9/11 investigator and author of the groundbreaking book, "The Big Wedding", Sander was well aware of the kind of straw man fallacies and deceptive science used to discredit the 9/11 Truth Movement's claims:

-"It's pseudo-science," Hicks says. "Any high school student would tell you, to do experiments in New Mexico [where much of the pyrotechnic tests were conducted] with different kinds of materials is a joke."

The explosives planted in the WTC argument? The TV special tested with only regular thermite (a pyrotechnic compound) and not "super thermite" as Truthers believe was the culprit.

"That's like saying, 'We want to do an experiment with whiskey, but we're going to use beer instead," Hicks says.-

The very fact that they knowingly conducted their experiments with different materials than those claimed by 9/11 researchers contradicts the statement by executive producer Erik Nelson who insists the goal of the program, "wasn't to debunk Truthers, sway any minds or hide contrary test results."

To add insult to the injury Nelson continues to say that, "It would've been fantastic to prove that the Truthers were correct, but sadly, as far as my ratings are concerned, that's not what happened." If they truly were hoping, for the sake of ratings, to prove 9/11 research to be correct, they why did they not examine, or even mention, the recent peer reviewed paper, "Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe."

From the personal review by Sander Hicks:
"They know that the truth movement has real science on our side: red nano-thermite chips found in four out of four samples tested. Those results were published in a peer-reviewed paper, by respected scientists like Kevin Ryan, Stephen Jones, Niels Harrit, et. al. This nano-thermite study is the 500 lb. gorilla in the room. It’s suffering a total media blackout in the US. Yet you feel its presence if you read between the lines of the New York Post review. I spoke about the Harrit paper often with the reporter, but it didn’t survive the editor’s cut. In the documentary, the producers never mention the peer-reviewed nano-thermite study. When you can’t win with science, you chose pseudo-science."

Angelina Jolie - revisited

I thought I'd have another go at Angelina, this time in black and white. Not my best but by no means my worst image. I'm still not happy with the mouth but I think the rest is OK.

The journey back yesterday went very well. No hold ups and we were home in three and a half hours, no speeding and with an hour's break. Now to sort out the clothes and stuff...sigh!

Talking About Appearance: Body Shape

Your figure is the shape of your body, considered with regard to whether the shape is pleasing or attractive, or whether it suits a particular style of clothes:
She has an excellent figure.
Body would formerly have been considered impolite here, but is now becoming acceptable. Figure is usually used of women. Foth both men and women we can use build:
a man/woman of small/heavy build
Body builder is someone, especially a man, , who does a lot of hard physical exercise using heavy weights, and develops big muscles. Some body builders engage in competitive bodybuilding showing their physiques to a panel of judges, who will them assign points based on their appearance. Oils and tanning lotions, combined with lighting, highlight their muscles. Well-known bodybuilders include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Charles Atlas.

The Body Shop

The Body Shop is a company started by Anita Roddick, which produces make-up, soap, shampoo, etc and sells them all over the world in its shops. The company is known for making products which have not been tested on animals and for working to protect the environment. The Body Shop also claims that it makes natural products "which have been inspired by nature".

Language & Mythology: Oedipus Complex

In ancient Greek stories, Oedipus was the son of King Laius and Queen Jocasta of Thebes. When he was a baby, Oedipus was left to die on a mountain by his father, but he was found and taken to live with the King of Corinth, so he did not know who his real parents were. When he became an adult, Oedipus returned to Thebes and, without knowing who they were, killed his father and married his mother. The story is told in the play Oedipus Rex by Sophocles.
The Oedipus complex is an unconscious desire that a son feels for his mother, combined with a hatred for his father, according to Freudian psychology.

Cultural Issues on Sneezing

To sneeze is to have a sudden uncontrolled burst of air out of the nose, caused by discomfort in the nose:

The dust made him sneeze.

The baby keeps sneezing -she must be getting a cold.

a fit of sneezing

When a person sneezes, it is quite common for someone in the room with them to say "Bless you!" In American English the interjection gesundheit (from German, meaning "health") is used to wish good health to someone who has just sneezed. The person who has sneezed probably then replies "Thank you".

The sound made by sneeze is expressed in writing by the word "Atishoo!" or sometimes "Atchoo!".

Sneezing can be the first sign of a cold or a symptom of viral infection. Sneezing can further be triggered through sudden exposure to bright light or a particularly full stomach, and it also can be the outward manisfestation of an allergy.

In the Ancient Greece, sneezes were believed to be prophetic signs from the gods. An instance of sneezing for the Greeks occurs in the story of Odysseus. When Odysseus returns home disguised as a beggar and talks with his waiting wife Penelope, she says to Odysseus, not knowing to whom she speaks, that "[her husband] will return safely to challenge her suitors"". At that moment, their son sneezes loudly and Penelope laughs with joy, reassured that it is a sign from the gods. In Europe, principally around the early Middle Ages, it was believed that one's life was in fact tied to one's breath, so this led people to believe that sneezing could easily be fatal. While the contorversial monarch Charles II was on his deathbed, his medical attendants administered a concoction of cowslips and extract of ammonia to promote sneezing. However, it is not known if this promotion of sneezing was done to hasten his death (as coup de grace), or as an ultimate attempt at treatment.

Fires, Explosions, Demolitions, Collapses, Crushdowns and the World Trade Center

My latest video. Just a compilation of clips of fires, demolitions, topples, crushdowns, collapses and 9/11 clips. Once again I have to thank the debunkers for finding some of the videos included. I've really developed a passion for video production lately, I think I might aim for a career in it.

Were the three skyscrapers on 9/11 demolished? You decide?

Music: Mundtot - Stammtisch

Defining What Music Is

Music is what feelings sound like.

Music is the poetry of the air.

Play the music, not the instrument

When words leave off, music begins.

Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.

Music is the medicine of the breaking heart.

Music is love in search of a word.

Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life.

Music is well said to be the speech of angels.

Did you ever notice

that there's a certain line in every song

that sticks out because

it reminds you of a person that you just can't

forget?

you learn a lot about people
when you listen to the songs
that mean something to them

Legend: A Saint and a Storm

The first American saint, Rose, was born in the city of Lima, Peru, and lived there her entire thirty-one years. An astonishing natural beauty, Rose went to great length to ruin her looks: rubbing pepper on her face to cause a blotchy complexion; dipping her smooth, soft hands into lime, and on one occasion, pushing a pin on her head. In addition, she deprived herself of food, drink and sleep on a regular basis and became a Dominican nun. When her parents were bankrupted for speculating in the mining business, Rose went to work sewing and labouring in the garden. She lived the latter part of her life as a recluse in a small hut in her garden, dying of an illness that was apparently caused by her severe mental and physical habits. She is often shown wearing a garland of roses on her head.
St Rose’s storm takes place in the Southern Hemisphere around 5 days before or after August 30th. According to legend, Rose and a group of followers tried to prevent some Dutch pirates from disenbarking at the city of Lima. People began to attribute the breaking of a storm just at that moment and the pirates' escape to Rosa's mystical powers and thus the legend began.
The legend became particularly strong in Argentina, especially in the area around the Río de la Plata, the province of Córdoba and the area of Cuyo. There is even a place called like her in the province of Mendoza.
Rose of Lima is the patron saint of South America and the Philippines and her feast day is on August 30th. Her real name was Isabel but, when she was a baby, a servant claimed to have seen her face transform into a rose so her name was changed "Rosa".

Tamsin Outhwaite

This little sketch was don this morning. I'm not familiar with her but she's a British actress who's known for being in a soap. As I don't watch them she could be Eve! I'm really happy with he likeness though.

Tamsin Outhwaite

We went to Honiton Hill Rally today. Andrew got his fix on steam engines - like a boy in a candy shop he was. There was very low cloud so with the steam, visibility was very poor. I also discovered that candy floss melts in damp atmosphere! I'm not a fan myself but we thought we'd get some for the children but Ewan and Siobhan were on the bouncy castle. There wasn't much left by the time they had finished, just a sticky horrible mess.

We're heading for home late so will not be back until the wee small hours. Rather that than brave the bank holiday exodus tomorrow. Schools are back this week so the world and his wife will be headed back!

Talking About Appearance: Handsome

When the adjective handsome is used of men, it means good-looking; of attractive appearance. When it is used of women, it means strong-looking; attractive with a firm, large appearance rather than a delicate one.
In English the initialism TDH stands for tall, dark and handsome. It should be noted that the phrase "tall, dark and handsome" refers to to a tall dark and handsome white man, not other races: a white man who is tall, handsome and with darker skin and hair. Certainly a white man could be also be attractive without being tall and dark!

Handsome Prince

A character in fairy stories who sometimes changes from a frog into a prince or breaks a spell, then marries the princess so that the story ends happily. In real life, there are many handsome princes: one of them is Harry (Princess Diana's son) and the two boys that Caroline of Monaco had with Stefano Casiraghi, Andrea and Pierre.
It is said, however, that women in general get tired of waiting for their handsome prince.

Dogs and Science: The Conditioned Reflex

Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849-1936) was a Russian scientist who won the Nobel prize for Medicine for his work on the digestive system. He is known especially for his work with dogs, which proved the existence of the conditioned reflex (= a physical reaction that you cannot control, caused by repeated training or experiences). Each time he fed his dogs he rang a bell before giving them their food. The dogs learned to connect the ringing of the bell with the arrival of the food, and they got excited and began to salivate when they heard the bell, even if there was no food.

Reply: Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth: Lies and Distortions

The following video was already debunked by the resources below it before it was made...

Clarifying the Collapse Time of WTC 7

Two Seconds That Will Live in Infamy (June 2009 Update)

"A demolition that is planned as part of a covert operation to fit a narrative of events that attributes the total destruction of the building to a different cause (such as a jetliner crash and consequent fires) has a very different set of requirements than a demolition that is planned to legally remove a building in an urban setting. An examination of the technologies of energetic materials and wireless detonation available to insiders who had the means to coordinate the attack of 9/11/2001 suggests plausible scenarios by which the Twin Towers and Building 7 might have been subjected to controlled demolitions on 9/11/2001." - Source: http://www.911review.com/means/demolition/covert.html

Controlled Demolition Not Possible?

Waiting for Seven: WTC 7 Collapse Warnings in the FDNY Oral Histories

The demolition expert in the video above does not think the Twin Towers were controlled demolitions due to their unconventional nature, but again this goes back to this being a covert operation, visit this link for more info. And despite claims to the contrary, he is quite sure WTC 7 was a demolition. Perhaps the more conventional nature of WTC 7's demolition can be explained by evidence that indicates 10:45 a.m. was the originally planned demolition time.
