Rolland Garros ,
French Open .

The French Open has kicked start a new grand slam title-chasing tennis match .

The greats such as Roger Federer , the William Sisters , Maria Sharapova , Ana Ivanovich , and the ever-active Rafael Nadal will be participating in this tournament .


This could be Federer's 14th Grand Slam if he either reaches the finals and defeats Nadal in the finals . But Nadal will definitely not give anything less than his best if he is to encounter his long-time Swiss rival .


Venus and Serena Williams are both giving all out in this competition , with Venus struggling to earn her spot when she was against Lucie Safarova . Venus in the end defeated Safarova by 6-7 , 6-2 , 7-5 .

Serena however , devastated her Spaniard opponent Virginia Ruano Pascual with an amazing 6-2 , 6-0 .


Ana Ivanovich and Maria Sharapova both defeated their opponents with a comprehensive 6-1 , 6-2 victory over Thai veteran Tamarine Tanasugam and Nadia Petrova by 6-2 , 1-6 , 8-6 , respectively .

Federer ( Roger ) however was put to the test as he nearly lost the game to fellow Argentinian Jose Acasuso by 7-6, 5-7 ,7-6, 6-2 .



Rafael Nadal will clash against Lleyton Hewitt after he destroyed Teimuraz Gabashvili by 6-1 , 6-4 , 6-2 .
