* The Pavlova Cake

The Pavlova cake is a light cake made of meringue, cream and fruit especially popular in Australia. It is thought to have been invented to celebrate a visit to Australia and New Zealand by Anna Pavlova in the 1920s. The dessert is colloquially referred to as "pav". Its recipe seems to have been originated in New Zealand.
