Update- *TMZ.com is reporting that Sickle Cell Anemia may have played a significant role in the death of Ashley "A.J." Jewell, the ex-fiancé of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burress.

Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Kelly Rose says it's most likely that Jewell was worked up from the fight -- and because of his condition, it's probable that he couldn't replenish the oxygen he lost during the incident ... which the Dr. says could have fatal consequences," TMZ reported

Ashley (A.J.) Jewell was admitted to Piedmont Hospital after he suffered massive head injuries during the brawl outside the Body Tap Club, where he died later.

Fredrick Richardson was arrested by Police within hours later and charged with voluntary manslaughter, officials said. According to the Witnesses statement to told Atlanta police, Jewell fought with Richardson outside the skin palace.

Richardson, who was also injured in the fight, will be charged once he is released from Grady Memorial Hospital. A spokesman for the Atlanta cops said it was not clear what prompted the brawl.

Kandi Burruss, the newest member of the hit Bravo reality show, posted on her Twitter page about Ashley's death and asked for prayers for Ashley (A.J.) Jewell's six children.

Grammy-winning songwriter Kandi Burruss, 33,Jewells former-fiance wrote on her Twitter page about the death.

"I could never in a million years imagine this happening," posted Burruss, a former member of the R&B group Xscape.

"im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk," she posted early this morning.

"i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone," she wrote.

Burruss & Jewell started dating in early 2009 and the couple got engaged to be married. He made several appearances with Burruss on the Bravo reality show.

They called off their engagement in August. He moved out of Burruss' Atlanta home last month, according to reports.
