Election Day USA November 2009
Election Day of USA is approaching on Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The earliest possible date is November 2 and the latest November 8. After every four years, on Election Day, registered voters in the United States cast their votes for presidential electors. Collectively, all these electors form the Electoral College. The number of electors per state is equal to the number in its Congressional delegation.
Each state has at least three electors. Kansas with six electors and Missouri has eleven. These electors meet on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December to elect the President and Vice-President.
Elections to the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate are held every two years.
In 1845, Congress established Election Day abolishing the previous controversial system of electing the President and Vice-President. Under the old system, states could appoint electors at any time within 34 days prior to the selection of electors in December.
Election Day in the United States is the day set by law for the election of public officials.
The early voting for the Utah election had concluded on 30th October 2009. People unable to cast their vote in the early elections would come to vote on 3rd November 2009.
