Names from Books: Pollyanna
Pollyanna is the main character in the Book Pollyanna (1913) by Eleanor Porter, who is a young girl who always believes something good will happen. People sometimes use her name to describe someone who is always cheerful and always expects good things to happen, especially when they have not had much experience of the world.
