A man will fight harder for
his interests than his rights
- Napoleon Bonaparte ,
Emperor of the French

Hello !

I apologize for not updating for so long . I have been attending the MSSD tournament at Kelana Jaya tennis center .

It has been a busy and intense week as I prepare myself for the battle I long for all these while . Well , I've got to say that I think I am ready for next year's challenge .

I wasn't too lucky this year as I was paired in the first game with this fellow who even defeated last year's finalist .

He was really too good .

Overwhelming could be the word that suits his prowess .

I was ' lucky ' enough to be given the grand center court in my first game of the first day . However , it was kinda dark that morning and I couldn't believe that the tournament officials could not have brightly light up the stadium for the sake of blind people like myself .

The lights were really dim and my eyesight was limited ( for most of you who know me well , I suffer from short sightedness ) .

With everyone looking at us play , the pressure was really there for me . I mean , for my opponent it could have been just a simple walk in the park but this is my first official game . So , I definitely felt the intensity in the air .

Nevertheless , I just give it all I've got . My opponent has a big service game and he focuses more on his service than rallies against me ( most of the rally shots we make ends up in my favor ) .

His first service was fast , packed fill with spin and as it was quite dark at that time , I had no choice but to concentrate on attacking his weak second serve .

Try and try I may , my efforts just wasn't enough . In the end , the match ended in a 4-8 defeat .

My expedition in search for glorious victory was short lived and I was sent packing for home .

So let's summarize .

1 ) I fell sick on Friday night and wasn't feeling 100%

2 ) Was paired up with a guy that's the best of tournament

3 ) Given the center court where all eyes are on you

4 ) Shortsighted in terms of sight

5 ) Lights were really not helping at all

6 ) Wasn't given enough time to practice at the beginning of the game

Well , that's just my luck huh ?

The odds are against me at every point . For the rest of the participants of the Under-18 group , everyone else had a good time playing as their service games weren't always like rockets .

I see that they enjoy their game better as it was a nice and slow game with wonderful rallies . I curse my luck for being the first player of the day to battle against that fellow .

Anyways . Managing to fight back and not get a bagel means there is potential . I should practice more often and prepare myself for next year .

Exposure is a good thing . Now I know what to expect and what not to expect .

I've found this video of Celine Dion singing a slow version of ' My Love ' on Oprah . It really is quite amazing and it gets emotional for her in the end .

That's because there is a story behind the lyrics ..

Tell me what you think ?

Lastly , I would like to thank EVERY one of you who wished me well and luck before and during my competition .

Supports from you guys have not gone unnoticed . Most of the time during the game I kept thinking of what a disappointment I am to you guys as I have not even cleared the first round . But hey , that's my luck isn't it ?

I do hope that I have not disappointed you guys too much . Nevertheless I thank you and I'll promise to do better next year .

P/s : Cedric , I understand how you feel now .
Pp/s : Terence , I hope this doesn't change anything between us . (:
Ppp/s : I think Adrian can screw my ass now . His racket is a mess -.-
Pppp/s : Wow , there really are hot girls that play tennis ! Although , most of them aren't strong strokers if you know what I mean . Girls tend to take it slow and easy .

Signing off ,
