Since everyone in the world is dumping all over poor Charlie Sheen in regards to struggle against drugs and alcohol, I submit that bad as the picture looks for Charlie at this point, he has the potential to triumph over his self imposed slavery: Mr. Sheen rejects the disease theory of addiction and Alcoholics Anonymous that have an unbroken track record of failure.
Indeed, Charlie hits the nail of the head when he states that the cure for addiction is the triumph of the will. This is very simple: A person introduces the drugs into his body by the exercise of his free will; thus it stands to reason that if a person becomes unhappy with where his addiction is leading him, he can by the exercise of that same free will reject drugs.
There you have it folks - a call for personal responsibility and willpower on the part of a man who has chosen not to exercise those options today.
But what about tomorrow?
The best of luck, Charlie Sheen! I've enjoyed your work for years, and consider myself one of your many fans. I pray that you will win this battle of addiction, which is the hardest conflict anyone will fight - The Battle of Yourself.
